The Joya de Nicaragua Número Uno Le Premier is one of the most prestigious cigars in the company's Obras Maestras ultra-premium collection. Blend & Character
Unlike the bold powerhouse blends often associated with Joya de Nicaragua, the Número Uno was designed to be elegant, refined, and universally appealing. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper softens the blend while the Nicaraguan tobaccos provide depth and complexity. [cigarsncigars.com], [neptunecigar.com], [joyacigars.com]
The company describes the profile as "Masterful Creaminess," rating the strength only 2/5. [joyacigars.com]
Flavor Profile
Typical tasting notes include:
Smoking Experience
The Le Premier delivers a slow, luxurious smoke of approximately 75-90 minutes. The first third is dominated by creamy Connecticut-wrapper flavors, while the middle introduces gentle spice and toasted nuts. The final third develops more depth with cedar, coffee, and a touch of pepper, yet remains impeccably smooth throughout. [joyacigars.com], [neptunecigar.com], [smokingpipes.com]
Prestige & Recognition
The blend received exceptional acclaim when it was released commercially and became one of the highest-rated cigars in Joya de Nicaragua's history. Only 1,500 boxes of the initial commercial release were produced worldwide, adding to its collectability and prestige. [atlanticcigar.com], [joyacigars.com]
Overall Impression
Strength: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)
Complexity: ★★★★☆
Smoothness: ★★★★★
Value as a special-occasion cigar: ★★★★★
If the Cinco Décadas El Cumiche is the rich, celebratory anniversary cigar, the Número Uno Le Premier is the sophisticated diplomat: creamy, elegant, impeccably balanced, and ideal for smokers who appreciate refined Connecticut-style cigars with subtle Nicaraguan complexity.
